Blue Skies Ahead

I try always to see the positive side of everything. I'm not perfect though. When something difficult or worrisome happens, I go into anxiety mode naturally and sometimes get caught up in the negative aspects of the issue. Alex is the same way and we make big efforts to change our way of thinking because we've both had tough lives and we want to make the best of what we have now.

We know that we will face difficulties in our future, everyone will. But turning those hard times into life lessons is the biggest challenge! We talked last night about our move. We plan to buy a home and property in 2019. We're by no means wealthy (financially!), so we were trying to figure out how we'd move our houseful of possessions and pets, likely to a new province - by ourselves without hiring movers - which we won't be able to afford. We also wondered how we'd manage going to visit properties if they are an eight hour drive away...with all the pets in tow! All of these will be challenges that we will have to face in order to achieve the future of our dreams.

It's going to be interesting! :)

Now that IS going to be interesting! You may have to do a virtual tour with a real estate agent instead. Or one of you go and virtual tour with the other.

It does sound like quite a challenge but you strike me as a very resourceful couple. Which province are you considering moving to? We had couples visiting from other provinces when we were selling our home in Kingston, some from very far away. One was from B.C. The wife came alone and showed her husband around the house by connecting to skype. It was quite interesting!

I'm a blue sky kind of gal, and I think that things usually work out for the best. At least you know what you want in the future. Terry and I are still trying to figure that out.

I think so Dianna, it will be challenging, also considering that Alex doesn't drive yet. He lived in the city all his life until he met me so he didn't even consider getting his license, but now it would definitely come in handy if we can find that $850 for the mandatory lessons. I was the same though, I only got my license when I was in my 30's and wanted to move up north. I'm sure we'll figure something out!

Hi Martha :) Well, we are thinking New Brunswick or Nova Scotia. Price is a big factor since we both want to continue our "at home" simpler lifestyle. The Maritimes are wonderful and perfect for us because if we don't have to leave the house to work, then we can basically live anywhere and real estate is very reasonable there. People flock to the cities so they don't have to go far for work, we have a better advantage and it will help us find a private area that won't break the bank too!

The only way we'd stay in Quebec is if we found a super deal with all of our criteria. We've kind of had it with the politics here. It can wear a person down. I just have to make sure I perfect the poutine before we go though lol!

I like yours and Dianna's idea of the virtual tour over the internet. That will likely be how we do it.

Hi Fundy Blue :) I didn't know what I wanted until about 4 years ago! Actually, I wanted something different. I wanted to be a nomad, in an RV, driving the rest of my life away across Canada! But I guess when I met Alex, I felt the "nester" in me. I know it'll all work out for the best, no matter what happens! :)

Congrats in the future move....yes, there will be challenges but in the long run the rewards will be worth it. It might be difficult but you will be glad you made the effort up front. I am 57 yrs old, retired for 1.5 yrs now and my house and car is paid for. I worked hard to get to this point, raising two kids as a single mom but what I have is all mine. I will cheer you on along the way!!

Thank you Pam! I'm so happy to hear you'll be cheering me on! I am so excited to begin the home ownership process. I did have a condo before I burned out, but that ended so badly and it was hard to move on. I HATE renting!! But we are working hard towards our dream. My car will be paid off in one year, that will be a nice thing too!

Beautiful writing!
dear Rain when we keep eye on the way of our thinking it makes us alert against negative occupation over our mind .
you both are dealing with it brilliantly.

I used to be worry lot specially for my LOVED ONES, but i don't know hat happened that since my parents died some years back ,nothing excites me in deep of my heart ,though i laugh or cry but it remains on surface .
it seems that nothing will affect me in any way any more
