White Poplar and Aspen Tree Message

I've been really spending a lot of time with my new Oracle deck and I'm learning so much. I wonder if my high school curriculum were as interesting, would I have enjoyed school more? :)

I decided to draw a card today, just to broadcast a little message for today...and for the next few days, to think about the new year, the old year, what you'd like to leave behind, to change, to plan, to know, the usual food for thought! :)

The message of the White Poplar and Aspen tree is this: Let go of your leaves like we do. You will grow new ones. Go into silence as you prepare for winter. Stand tall. Prepare for the new cycle of the year to come, because it will always come.

This is how I think of this card: Accept what life has given you. Trust that you will grow new "leaves" as time goes by. Endure the hard, cold seasons of your life and learn from them...strengthen from them. Never lose hope or faith. Spring, warmth and renewal will always be there when you are ready to welcome them. We need to get through winter to really appreciate the beauty and joy of spring. 💚

I love this post, Rain. So many good lessons to learn here. I truly believe that nature in every way has so much to teach us if we take the time to pay attention. Today I've been shopping around on Amazon for a set of Oracle cards. I have a whole bunch of spiritual books at home from the period in my life where I set off on a spiritual journey to connect with myself, Mother Earth, etc. Now I'd like to expand on that. Since I discovered this blog, I've become enchanted by these posts you share. I feel a little unbalanced lately and I'd like to get back to my spiritual meditation, or so to speak. I'll draw a card each day and mediate on it. I haven't decided which set of cards I will order (there are so many I like!) but I'm getting there. I hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend so far.

Hi Rain!!

Such lovely blogs you keep! Sofie and I are going to sift thru the cheese blog together as we both love to make such things! Currently our obsessions are sauerkraut and pickles. But cheese. . . yes please!

I love the Aspen card and I love your interpretation of it. Accepting what life has given us. I've always thought of it as something of a reminder to actively seek and dive into winter as well, actively reduce our own "landscape" and to, with intention, let go of anything that does not bring joy to our lives like leaves from the trees. I've written much about cleaning house of anything and anyone who is a drain on our energy so that we can put all of it into moving forward, into blooming with the coming Spring of life. To adore the winter season for all that it allows us to discover when we strip away the lushness of our summers of growth.

The artist, Andrew Wyeth, has a quote I've always loved: “I prefer winter and fall, when you can feel the bone structure in the landscape---the lonliness of it---the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it---the whole story dosen't show.”

More than just renewal I like the feeling of stripping things back to that ""bone structure" and rebuilding from there, just as nature does every year. :)

Thank you for the inspiration and focus!!
Light and love to you both in the New Year!

Hi Martha :) I'm SO EXCITED to hear about your Oracle card adventure!!! There are just so many decks that I find are calling me to get them! But I have so many, I don't want to neglect them :) I'm happy that you had a great spiritual journey, especially during a time when you needed it most. I find it amazing how wonderful my life can be when I tap into that spiritual side of myself. And thank you!!! I'm very happy that you find this blog enchanting, which is ironic because I had this blog going for years privately before, and the name was "The Enchanted Pantry" :). I focused a lot more on kitchen magick and things like that. I want to get back into an array of magickal and spiritual posts this year, a little bit of fun for everyone! :) I start my day with a card, and most times a reading too. Let me know how you're progressing! :) I hope you have a wonderful night tonight!!! :)

Hi Nicolas :) Thank you for visiting!! I'm also obsessed with making my own food as much as possible! The cheese blog has come to a slight halt because I had some bad luck with a horrible cheese coating on 2 of my I wanted to wait until we tasted the last three to start making more...but I can give you a sneak preview that 3 of the 4 cheeses we tried last night were a GREAT success! :)

That is an interesting way to think...about the stripping back of things and the bone structure, I really like that. Because if we are to really renew ourselves and rid our lives of all toxicity, don't we have to start from scratch at times? I had to do that years ago and it was the best feeling in the world. Wishing you and your Sofie a wonderful new year as well! Hope you have fun tonight! Our night is all about cozy!!! :)
