💐💐 Happy Ostara! 💐💐

Happy Ostara my friends! :) Today is the Spring Equinox and I couldn't be more thrilled. Even though we still have Godzilla-like snow banks all around the village, the days are reaching above zero and the sun is shining more often than not...my window garden is doing so well and I am very close to driving myself nuts with spring fever lol! :)

Today I'm going to plant some more herbs to make sure I always have some handy. I may start some more lettuce too, I have to find room in the window!

For me, spring = happy. So this influenced the Ostara spread I made. What makes my physical being happy is what also makes my mental and spiritual being happy too: good food, health, good weather, fun hobbies, a cozy home, good friends, being in Nature, lots of happy healthy fur babies and a loving relationship. I'm a simple gal! :)

Wascally Wabitt!! A rabbit in my yard when I lived in Morin Heights in 2010

Rabbits are symbols of Ostara. I see rabbit tracks in the yard a lot this time of year, but it's rare to see them here, they mostly stick to the woods and boy are they quick! Kind of crazy that last night's dream/nightmare was about a rabbit! My dream was that a rabbit somehow got into the cottage and was hurting my dogs. I woke up so scared and had to hug each of the pets, then Alex too!

I'm a wee bit late with my "Spring Ahead" spread, which I wanted to post when we changed the clocks ahead a few weeks back. Again, I'm baffled as to how this time change became the norm. Our dogs get confused still about feeding times, and I've heard from many a homesteader that it messes up their farm animals and critters too.

If you have a Tarot or Oracle deck, why not draw four cards for new ideas you can bring to your home, mind, spirit and heart? :)

Or just ask yourself the questions and get creative! My biggest new idea to bring to my home is to concentrate on frugality and every thing I can do to make buying a home next year a reality. Another thing I'm doing is planning a better garden for the summer. Last year I had hits and misses, this year I know what should work well and I'll be taking great care of the garden more than I did last year. I know the value of home grown veggies and fruit and that's all I want to eat! Not possible yet, but I'm on my way. :) I stopped the cheesemaking for a while due to time and honestly, some failures last year, but I'll be trying again this spring. :)

Prince Edward Island Sunset - December 2009

As for my mind, spirit and heart...it's all about being out in Nature more and bringing more love into my life, changing my perspective and being grounded each day to keep anxiety away. Alex and I have vowed to spend more time together walking in the woods and out on the lake shore fishing. I have a really nice camera and my goal this year is to take more photos of Nature and the forest animals. I used to take so many, but somehow found the excuse that my phone's camera was easier, shame on you Rain... but not anymore. :) I love photography and I have the perfect setting! This brings my spirit a lot of joy too. Any goals in mind? Any plans for Ostara?

Now listen friends, we now have only 3 months of amazing and awesomely long days (at least in this part of the world)! When the Summer Solstice arrives, it starts to get darker again so take advantage and enjoy! :)

Thank you for this post! I actually didn't do a post for today. It's a bit like.... "S-P-R-I-N-G??????? Really?" LOL Not the best of attitudes I know.

But I am doing Air work. At least, I feel that paying attention to how I spend my On-Line Life, fits there. Drop what no longer works. Etc. Etc.

Not blogging. Blogging is my home on the Net. But I have disengaged myself from my infatuation with Instagram, and that makes me feel good. I can still look in at only a very few IG's. But with no input on my part.

More time for reading, which I am back to really enjoying. I love topics, and delving into them. Fun for me. And I just found a new one. :-))))))

So, Happy Ostara to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So ready for more spring.....although we have had some things here in TN BUT Mother Nature keeps messing with us. Yesterday I was in shorts....today, chance of snow. Although we have not had any snow...esp not compared to what you have but still, we wish Mother Nature would stop playing with us. What makes me happy, spiritually and mentally....waking each morning and having my furbabes around me. Phyically....right now the oils are making me happy! haha....Here is hoping that spring finds your soon. Hey, as of my nieces place, real log cabin, 40 something acres of land. She started out studing to be a large animal vet, changed to animal husbandry....she has two degrees and teaches at the local college as a Agricultural Science teacher. She is a go gether and such a tiny girl! But she amazes me....

Happy equinox! Here it doesn't feel like spring. More like one nasty November day. I must confess I don't like spring all that much. I find it a treacherous season and I'm more of an autumn man. When I was a child however it was my favourite season by far.

Rain, a "Happy Ostara" to you my friend!

This first day of Spring, it's snowing where my wife and I live, but hopefully it will warm up soon for my wife's garden. That's such a nice "window garden" that you have and I must say that food and wine sure looks delicious!

That photo of that rabbit surrounded with green sure is beautiful, and that sunset photo is grand!

My wife and I see rabbits everyday outside our home, even at night when there's snow.

Happy spring, Rain! Things can only get better from now on. We still have a lot of snow around but I'm hopeful that the weather will warm up soon and we'll be done with it. I've had enough! LOL And the older I get the less tolerance I have to the cold. So it'll be nice to have warmer days at some point.

I actually did pull four cards this morning and one of them was to feed my spirit! And my spirit needs pretty much what yours does. I am also very simple in my needs. One of the top things my spirit requires is to reconnect with nature. I am starving for it. I'm looking forward to walks in wooded areas, to cycling, to being by the water...to being outdoors! Won't come soon enough for me.

Oh that sunset in Prince Edward Island! How stunning. I wish I could do that right now. It is amazingly beautiful on the east coast. I hope your dream to own a home next year happens!

Hi Wisps of Words :) I know, it doesn't really feel like spring with 35 feet of snow out there lol...but I'm still hoping that things will start to melt soon! I think it's good to remove yourself from the internet, or parts of it. Sometimes we get too involved and too obsessed. It's that instant gratification that makes us impatient and bored too. At least I've found that to be true!

Hi Pam :) Oh yes, the furbabes...they make my day when they greet me with those cuddly hugs and kisses! :) I'm glad the oils make you happy! I think I must have missed that post, I'll have to go back and check out your blog. I missed a lot during my spring cleaning! Your niece is amazing...I'm so impressed by everything she's done and is doing!

Hi Dianna :) I missed you too :) That photo is so pretty, but imagine how cold that water is!!!

Thanks Guillaume, you too! I think that autumn is my favourite time of year for sure, but after such a long winter, spring becomes my temporary favourite season! Especially now that I'm gardening! :)

Thanks Lon, to you too! Lucky you to see rabbits every day! I miss seeing them. I'm hoping to get out into the deeper woods this summer to try to take some more photographs of the wildlife. I think that the snowmobile activity scares most of them away which is too bad. I hate those snowmobilers!! I hope spring arrives soon too, I want to get out into the garden! :)

Hi Martha :) Happy Spring! :) You're right, it just gets better from here on in. Time to plan the garden! I think that my first walk in the woods will be very magickal. Now that I have my screened in porch all set up, I see myself meditating outside every morning before I hit the garden! Oooh it's going to be lovely! :) The east coast is really gorgeous, I do love it so much and I can't wait to plant my roots there! :)

Happy Spring Rain! I hope you've been enjoying your week! I've been cleaning up the yard. I was going to put some of the earth down, but the ground is still too hard. I might be rushing things, but it just feels so good to be outside! Enjoy picture taking and being with Alex! I love rabbits. We have lots of them! Sorry about your bad dream!! Sending Big Hugs your way!

Thanks Magic Love Crow :) Hope you're having a nice Sunday. I know how you feel, it does feel good to be outside, even though here it's still too cold and there is too much snow. I would LOVE to get out gardening...but I must be patient :) I wish we saw more rabbits again!
