Blog Comments

THIS IS A POST I DID ON MY MAIN BLOG: Rain's Garden with regards to a new policy on Blog Comments!

Here are a few of the 66 tomatoes that are finally turning red! :) I see salsa in my future... ;)

And my very first sugar pumpkin...do you think it'll have enough time to ripen?

Blog Comments:  My friends, I'm sorry to say this, but I have to turn off the "anonymous" comment feature for my blog. I don't know what the heck happened, but I woke up the other morning to over 800 comments (no joke!!!) from "Anonymous"...everything from graphically violent attacks, to bigotry to the likes of the Nigerian Prince scam of the 1990's. I even got comments saying that the Federal Government is suing me for tax evasion lol...

And all throughout the last few days I keep getting hundreds more on various posts on my blogs.

This doesn't worry me at all, I know they are just randomly generated, but it's just annoying, so I'm going back to only allowing comments from people with Google accounts. I know that some of my followers don't have accounts with Google, but I hope you understand. I just don't have the time to moderate comments when I'm getting so many spam ones.

This also applies to my other two blogs: Rain's Thoughts and Rainy Day Cheese Making...both of which I intend to resume after Labour Day as well! :)

If you don't want to open a Gmail account, I totally get that, but if you want to contact me, you can always use the Contact Form on my sidebar! I'm also on Instagram.

Thanks for understanding! :)

Of course it is understandable!

And as far as Anon. people go, they simply have to make a Blogger Profile. If they want to communicate. That's it!!!!!!

I have the time, to moderate my comments, and I don't get that many anyway. You are very busy with life, and do not have the time.

It is your call!!!!!!

I *sezzzzzzzzzzzz*! >,-)))))

Hugssssssssss...

I've never heard of a sugar pumpkin, but it sure looks interesting and pretty cool. Hope your day is going well! Hugs...RO

Hi RO :) These are smaller "pie" pumpkins, at least according to the seed package!! I'm about to start canning soup! :)))

Canning soup??? Yummy!! Again, so sorry about this Rain! Big Hugs!

Rain said...

Hi Magic Love Crow :)) YES! I canned 11 jars of minestrone soup yesterday! :) As long as there is no dairy or flour, it can be canned. :) I want to do some chicken soup next. :)

Bet that garden is doing great. I picked two patio tomatos in June but...I have five on there now and I picked one this morning. My Purple Cherokee (which I LOVE) has three on it that are turning. BIRDS got one I noticed today. I had to turn off anonymous also. Hated doing it cause I have a friend that comments everynow and again and she don't have a blog to comment from but I kept getting a bunch of stupid comments. Wow...that was a lot of comments! Hate when someone has to ruin a good thing for the rest of us. Thank you for the sweet comment about coming by and checking on your fav folks! I have been wondering about you but I know this is your busy time of the yr with the pretty weather. Hoping all is well with you all.

Hi Pam :)) The garden is doing really well!! I can't wait to harvest the potatoes...but I'm going to be patient and wait another few months! Oh...the waiting...home grown tomatoes are the best tomatoes!! :) Too bad the birds got one of yours. Yeah, the anonymous idiots who send spam comments...just bored little losers. We find ways around it! :)

Sorry you got hit, but I get what you're saying. It's annoying. Glad you found a way to slow it-or stop it- by removing one of their options. Also, Happy Halloween!

Rain this is totally understandable! How terrible to have suddenly become a target of random comments.

Well, the garden looks wonderful and I hope that sugar pumpkin ripens! We grew our first container tomatoes this year, cherry tomatoes, and they did surprisingly well! But then again, it seems to be a year in our little corner where everything is growing like crazy! And I don't know about where you are but here the first signs of autumn are truly emerging already, turning leaves, chilly mornings, things going to seed. . . I love it all as Autumn is my favorite time of year.

Enjoy the season!

Hi Baili :) Oh the rubbish comments...we can't seem to get away from them can we? Oh well, we just adapt. :) Thanks! I love my garden and all of the care I took is now paying off!!! :)

Hi Nicolas :) Our cherry tomatoes did SO WELL in the containers! Actually all the tomatoes did, I think container gardening is fabulous! I'm in northern Quebec in Canada and yes...the autumn is creeping in...this morning it was 9 Celcius when I walked the dogs...brrr...but then we got a nice hot sunny afternoon. I kind of lament the summer, but all things must change right? :)
