New Moon Intentions and Cherries

I believe in magic. Not the "I hate society and will seek revenge by conjuring a hurricane" type of nonsense you see in the movies!!  😲

For me, magic is all about intent and action. If I want something to manifest, I need to believe in my intention; then follow it up with action to actually make it happen.

Of course, I am not too much of a dreamer. I know that I have limits to my intent and actions. I can't change the world, but I can change MY world!

I also believe in projecting my wishes out to the Universe and the law of attraction. If you are a negative, terrible will attract negativity into your life. If you are a positive and happy person, you will attract positivity into your life. It may not happen immediately, but you will see the change when you make it!

When I was younger, I lived a negative, bitter and unforgiving life and I was miserable. When I shifted my thoughts to positivity and started to live a meaningful life of gratitude, I got all of that back in return. That's not to say that all of my troubles disappeared; but life became so much better, so much so that those troubles and challenges were and are easier to cope with. I have faith that everything will always turn out in the end. I know the Universe has my back! :)

We are entering a New Moon phase of the lunar cycle. The moon is dark and quiet and her energy is weak - recovering from the immense energy of the past full moon. Now is a great time to set intentions and start the magical process of making your wishes come true. What you project out to the Universe right now sets your intentions into motion. As the moon strengthens over the next four weeks, her energy gets stronger and keep those intentions in mind as you take action to manifest your dreams, goals or intentions.

I came up with a general charm for this time of the month because I believe in symbolic acts and rituals to make the intention stronger.

Cherries represent love and happiness. The New Moon's element is Earth. So this charm involves cherries and the Earth. When it comes down to it, all I want in life is love and happiness, so tonight I took a few cherries out to the yard and held them in my hands in the darkness of the New Moon. I voiced my intentions out loud as I buried the cherries into the Earth. I had to get through a little snow first though! :)

I then sprinkled a little cinnamon on top for protection. There is a spot in my garden that gets full moonlight and that's where I did my little charm. That way when I look out my window, that part of the garden will be moonlit and I'll remember my intention and work earnestly towards achieving it.

My photo didn't turn out, this is a photo from the cookbook!

I also decided to do some kitchen magic! :) I made Cherry Cheese Blintzes with the Absinthe cherries that Alex and I aged in the summer of 2017. The filling is a mix of cream cheese, Ricotta and those delicious cherries among other things! They melt in your mouth!! As I made our supper, I had my mind on my intention.

It's very easy to wish for something...but unless you have great luck, you need to take action to make that wish come true. These little charms I do help me to keep the intentions in focus. And it's fun. :)

If you're looking for a fresh start or to start/restart a project, now is the time to do it! Try taking some time every night to gaze up at the sky and feed off the energy and beauty of the Moon!

I was out star and moon watching the last two nights , setting some intentions for the near future.
Tonight the sky is grey and snowy ... no stars or moon to talk to.
I love your cherry ritual 🍒

I do so love cherries! Makes me want to bake a cherry pie. But don't know if I would be able to bury any of it the way you did your cherries. (Don't pay much attention to me. I'm just being difficult this morning!)

I am just now starting to study magic, I have always felt the pull but life was just too busy to work on learning or studing anything new. I am with you though, once I learned to like me, once I learned to believe in me, give myself some slack and make it a given that I laugh daily, my life got better.....course retiring and adopting Lily helped with all that too. I have invested in crystals and other healing stones also. I had a friend tell me that she picked up on me being a Lightworker. I read up on it and I think she could be right. Funny that this stage of my life I am learning more and more about myself Thank you for sharing.

I knew you would tell me, about The New Moon! And I actually keep a post you did, about each phase of the Moon. So I can go there, and look each up.

Love your Cherry Magick! It's strengthening our intention. Which certainly is always a wise idea. How else can we make changes, without keeping the intention, front-and-center in our life?

And actually, even if someone doesn't "accept" the concept of magick, it's logical and wise...... Focusing on intentions, keeping them front and center, etc. It just makes sense.

Many New Moon hugs to you...

Hi Nik :) Thanks :) I love to incorporate food and herbs in my charms, it's more natural for me. I wish you all the greatest success with your intentions this month! :)

Hi Baili :) Thanks :) I'm trying to enjoy life as much as possible...I try to stay as positive as I can because negativity is so destructive. I don't want to waste a moment.

Hi Pam :) Oh a Lightworker, how wonderful! Work on that's pretty cool! :) I agree that at this stage of my life, I'm learning a lot more about myself than I have for the first 50 years!! I feel so comfy being me. I'm glad that you're starting to learn about magic and crystals. That's wonderful. Crystals are very healing. I haven't done any crystal work in my life, I never find the time to commit to it, but that's something I want to do for sure in the future. I have an amethyst pendulum that I work with daily though, that's something you may want to try too!

Hi Mama Pea :) Oh, she's difficult this morning lol! ;) It was hard to bury the cherries because honestly, they are SO delicious lol...but I needed them for the charm! :) A cherry pie sounds delicious!

Hi Wisps of Words :) New Moon hugs to you too! Dark Moon hugs!! :) And you're welcome, I think it's amazing that you are celebrating 60 years together. :) Yes, to me magick is logical and wise. We are Wisewomen aren't we? :) I want to do more Moon posts and talk about what each cycle represents, then come up with a new charm. I find it's so powerful to add to the intention! :) So glad you're enjoying the posts!!!

I'm with you, Rain! As the saying goes "like attracts like". What we project is what the universe returns to us. If we believe we deserve nothing more than misery then we'll be miserable. But if we believe that we deserve we should be happy, happiness will come our way.

Rain said...

Hi Martha :)) I think that's the key a lot of us forget...we need to really believe we deserve happiness. Maybe that's why some people doubt the law of attraction, because deep down, they aren't quite convinced they deserve the best? More thoughts! :)

Such a great post Rain, I love it! I have found through "wanting", there is a lot of healing and through that healing, there is change. It's amazing how the universe works! Big Hugs!

I'm glad that you escaped the misery of your earlier life, Rain. I really believe that things turn out for the best in the end. I try to give thanks every day for the gift of another day, for health, for happiness, for love, for the colors of the leaves, whatever. "i can't change the world, but I can change MY world" ~ That is an inspiring and a powerful sentence. I've really been focusing on my home in recent weeks. I thought of you tonight. I tried a new macaroni and cheese recipe with great cheeses, and cheese always reminds me of you. Terry was a happy guy at dinner! Have a good one!

Rain said...

Hi Louise :) Oh that's cute that you equate cheese with me lol! I love it! I'm sure Terry was very happy :)) Thanks for your comment, focusing on the home is a wonderful thing. I'm very happy here at home, I have everything I ever want or need. I'm the same as you, I live with so much gratitude, it makes life so much better! :)
